The PDF follows one fictional reporting pack from a vague “ready for review” message to a handoff with sources, checks, open items and a specific decision. Annotations explain what changed.

Use the blank version next close.

The Excel sheet has editable fields and status dropdowns. It is set up to print on one landscape page. Your team records the work and decides its status; the sheet does not check or approve it.

Make the question clear before review starts.

“September pack attached” leaves the reviewer to find the support, repeat the checks and work out which questions need a decision.

The example puts that preparation beside the pack. The reviewer can see the source, the check performed, the unresolved item and the decision requested.

Ready for review can include unresolved judgment. The preparer makes the facts and question clear. The reviewer still owns the decision.

Start with one reporting pack.

Read the worked example, then adapt the blank sheet to your firm’s review requirements. Have the preparer complete it beside the pack. After review, compare what was clear with what still needed another question.

This is a handoff format. It does not replace your workpapers, review procedures or professional judgment. You can use it without booking a call.

Your next step · free, 20 minutes

Find out why “ready for review” still becomes your work.

The sheet makes the handoff visible. A Close Teardown looks at how the work reached it: missing inputs, repeated preparation, unclear responsibility or a decision only you can make.

Trace one typical close with Owen. Discuss what the team could prepare, what still needs your judgment and where a system could help. You do not need to use the kit first.
